Constructed Treatment Wetland

GEE conducted a feasibility study to examine the use of a 22-acre constructed wetland for treating copper and zinc in the water effluent from the Bridgestone Polymers facility in Texas. This work was motivated by the decision made by the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality to lower the copper discharge limit for the facility.  GEE became the lead ecological/ wetland designer, including planning oversight and permitting for the build-out of the created treatment wetlands, ensuring cleaner water before the effluent reaches Cow Bayou and ultimately the Gulf of Mexico.
