Bonnie Briar Stream Restoration
GEE was hired by Westchester County to design the restoration of degraded stream banks of the Sheldrake River as it passes through Bonnie Briar Golf Course. The existing stream banks were steep and planted with turf, which allowed fertilizer and pesticides to enter the stream. In response, GEE regraded the slopes and created two large flood plain areas. The banks and flood plains were planted with a mixture of riparian species. In addition, in-stream rock structures were constructed to enhance the stream bed.
